The University of Utah, MacAdmins Meeting is held monthly at the Marriott Library on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 11 AM Mountain Time. Presentations cover Apple technology and integration in a heterogeneous university enterprise environment. This months meeting will be held on Wed, Feb 21st 2018, and we will provide live broadcasted and archives that will be made available 2-3 days after the meeting.

Boot Runner, TCM & Winclone Overview – By Timothy Perfitt, CEO, Twocanoes Software
This presentation will be covering Winclone, Boot Runner and a new product from Twocanoes Software, TCM. Winclone is a utility to clone, migrate and deploy Boot Camp partitions on Macs. Boot Runner is a great way to manage the startup process with dual boot Macs. TCM is a new way to instantly send actions and get information from Macs right from a web browser.
Tim will also share stories on other projects he has worked on, as well as stories from his time at Apple, including when he had an awkward email conversation with Tim Cook and Tim’s mom.

About Timothy Perfitt
Timothy Perfitt is founder and CEO of Twocanoes Software, Inc and Twocanoes Labs, LLC. He started the company in 2012 in Naperville, IL in an effort to build best of breed Mac and iOS software and hardware. Taking advantage of Apple’s iBeacon and the excitement around close-proximity sensors, Twocanoes has created a short-range Bluetooth device that alerts customer-aware systems of a nearby mobile device called Bleu.
Prior to starting Twocanoes, Timothy worked for Apple for 10 years and developed the first ever certification training for OS X and OS X server, which led him to work with the Apple engineering team that focused on Higher Education and Fortune 500 large scale environments.

Mac Swiss Army Knife Script – James Reynolds, University of Utah, Biology
This presentation will discuss mak.py , a script for system administrators to quickly and easily hack a Mac. mak.py is a combination of all of his customization scripts in one script, a one stop shop intended to be as easy as “System Preferences,” but from the command line.
