Onboarding Best Practices – Damien Barret, Apple Platform Engineer at a Fortune 500

Onboarding Best Practices: Why you should care about onboarding your new employees. What to do;  What not to do.

In this presentation on onboarding best practices, Damien will discuss the significance of a conscientious onboarding process as it serves as a new employee’s initial impression of the organization. He will cover the importance of a systematic approach, advocating against the mere distribution of equipment without a well-defined plan. Key considerations involve the use of checklists, addressing technical onboarding aspects such as equipment provisioning, training, and data access, and paying attention to non-technical aspects like wayfinding and accommodation.
